"Mama I Can't BREATHE"
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”
- Maya Angelou
- Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi
#Philanthroperty is our legacy of ownership. A #RealEsateRevolution created by a woman for women. A Woman's REIT #MoveMeant about women’s #PropertyRights #WREITS
The Philanthroperty story began in 2017 following a major back surgery when I became FINANCIALLY RUINED and economically co-dependent. I poured all of my time and what was left of my treasures into a philanthropic endeavor to save a 35 year legacy of honoring young black men in the community to erratic the stigma of Black Man being seen as dangerous. While I was physically and mentally trying to heal from losing my backbone I gained courage and a new back. I was physically and mentally reconstructed. I made the decision to put all my energy into combining my passions for Real Estate, Philanthroperty, and life long activist. I thought of the idea before but I felt I needed a platform to make it go global. I had been turned away before after making it not once but twice to as a finalist present at ted X and decide the 3rd time would be a charm. This time it would be a part Tedx Women global conference, 3 days of women all over the world sharing their big idea. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. Years later, I cringed when the president of the UNITED States of America said the same thing about black people.
I took breathing for granted and the ability to walk. While using my grandmother’s walker who this year would have been 100 years. I was on a mission for the ability to stand on my own and take care of myself. I wanted to be a better be role model for my daughters and other girls. I could not just make money but instead, make history count. I wanted to fulfill my parents dream of success in America where anything is supposed to be possible.
Women can NOT afford to wait to EXHALE ...Our LEGACY and LIVES MATTER! Don't be a lady in waiting DO SOMETHING. Take control of your life because every generation has depended on women to give them life. It is in our DNA to work hard, nurture others, and contribute to our community. Take care of yourself and your legacy with the support of women value each other and the equity we earn and deserve. On December 31, 2019, I sold 40 acres and knew that was a message from my ancestors of Queens, Soldiers, Slaves, Mothers, and Martyrs whose LIVES matter. Their blood, sweat, tears, lynchings, and final breath can not be a lost cause. It takes a village of women to OWN their country that is feeling the pain I have been feeling for a while making a living on American awhile being a #BlackWoman. Now women from all backgrounds, and heritage are ready to suit up and REALLY make a difference doing something they have never done before. --
